SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS

We are pleased to announce that our secondary partnership school will be Chantry Academy Ipswich and our primary school partner is St. Peter’s Church of England Primary School Coggeshall. We will be working closely with these schools throughout 2021/22, offering opportunities for young people and teachers to work alongside professional musicians. If your school is interested in being a future Pimlott Partner school, please get in touch here.

STEVEN PIMLOTT’S LEGACY

The Pimlott Foundation was established 2007 in memory of Steven Pimlott, inspired by his versatility, passion and love of music making. The Foundation’s aim is to bring together aspiring performers with professionals.  We promote concerts and live events whilst also delivering an educational programme which supports performing arts locally.

Family Choir

For logistical reasons, we have decided that Family Choir will not resume this year- although we may trial a small choir at some stage later in the year.

Happily, Emma Bishton conducts several local choirs (Emma Bishton singing groups), and we are sure that anyone who wants to carry on singing à la Family Choir mode, will be able to find a choir to suit their needs.

Apologies, but happy future singing.

YOUNG MUSICIANS’ CONCERT SERIES

Are you a talented young musician, or do you have a family member or friend who is?  Would a concert be good experience and help in promoting or furthering your musical career? The Pimlott Foundation can help by offering Old House Barn as a venue, and help publicising your concert. If you are interested in joining our Young Musicians’ Concert Series, email Daniela Bechly or Helen Thorne for details.

STUDENT SPONSORSHIP

The Pimlott Foundation offers up to £500 to several talented young musicians each year. For 2021-22, we are sponsoring Adam Cubitt and Leanne Baker.

Adam was born and raised in Stoke-by-Nayland; he completed his last year at Chetham’s School of Music in July 2021, when he was awarded the prize for Outstanding Progress in Cello Playing, in addition to receiving the prestigious Boutflower Watch for his contributions to the school. In the autumn of 2021 he will begin his undergraduate studies with Felix Schmidt at the Royal Academy of Music.

Leanne, from West Bergholt, has been recently accepted to study a 4 year Bachelor of Music on the clarinet at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.

Having studied music from a young age, Leanne has been part of many ensembles including the Essex Youth Orchestra, the Essex Youth Jazz Orchestra, the Essex Youth Symphonic Wind Orchestra and West Bergholt Concert Band.
